I had the raynox clip on fisheye for my Sony cams, I believe it was the 3000Pro that was no longer useful after upgrading to Canon. Problem is, I really like the semi-fisheye look and new fisheye for these cams are quite expensive. In doing some research on lenses, I came across a mod to get the clip on fisheye to work with the DVX. As the DVX as the same thread size as the Canon (or FX1) I thought I would try the mod and see if it works.

To find full instructions, search the archives for a post by Neil Slade. He outlined the whole thing step by step. Basically, break the fisheye clips off, takes the screws out and rmeove the lens element. Then glue or JB weld it to a Cokin 72mm threaded ring. It now fits right onto the Canon and works at full wide with no vignetting. It is likely not as sharp as some of the new HD fisheyes but for the price, it is certainly useable in my opinion. I am very happy with the results. I am sure this would work on the FX1 as well.

Great way to put your old fisheye to use if you have upgraded to HD.
