Hi All,

I'm heading out to Nashville this weekend for the River Stages music festival, and was wondering if anybody had any pointers about Nashville. I've never been, and don't really know (other than the festival I'm going for) what I should check out.

Anything film oriented out there? What should I do when I'm not at the fest?

Thanks!

Hi Imran,
In the downtown area(where the fest is) there are a zillion places for drink and food,There's also tour busses that you can take for a ride around the area to see sights and country stars homes etc..for more of a tourist type of experience.
There are a few film production companies in the "Music Row" area,as well as some superb recording studios. The area is full of good locations, and is very film friendly.
Theres a wolf camera shop at the junction of west end avenue, and I-440 for Canon needs
One of my favorite restaraunts is South Street which is a few blocks from Music Row,where seafood, drinks and interesting ladies are the theme......
"West End" has a variety of culturistic things going on at night, live music is plentiful.
There's also a free paper at most of the bars and restaraunts called "The Rage" which has a listing of all clubs, bands playing and activities for the area.Another good activity paper is "The Scene" which is free, and can be found near the entranceway of most eating establishments.

Riverfest is a big deal around here, as every year the quality of bands that play it get better and better, and the crowds are friendly.
www.nashville.citysearch.com is a good site to go to for maps and all types of info on the area.
Bad areas: Dickerson Rd, West Nashville, Murfreesboro Rd (on the south side of town)

Watch where you park.No Parking means no parking and the parking vultures will tow you in the blink of an eye!
If your'e staying at Opryland you can take a scenic boat ride to downtown.
If you need any more info e mail me directly and I'll do the best I can to help you out!!!
Have fun,and if you have too much fun, theres plenty of bondsmen next to police headquarters open 24 hrs ;)
