I'm reading about SI camera from the time when SI was only HD version, but till now everything was too speculative about package included with the camera. Now everything is clear and I'm pleased with the results - SI + Cineform + Iridas + P+S this is the team that has forward thinking. I'm film editor and I'm excited about how this guys are making this thing so simple and efficient, you are the winners :).
I want to ask about collecting dust on the sensor. When we shoot with prime lenses, changing the lens can cause collecting dust on the sensor, DSLR cameras like Evolt, Lumix L1 have Supersonic Wave Filter to shake off the dust. How this can be solved on SI 2K camera, maybe with cloth, maybe cloth can damage the sensor?
I only wanted to congratulate to SI team that made true digital film camera with the best workflow that i can imagine, it is the beggining of the new revolution like DV-firewire workflow was 10 years ago

I forgot to post another question, should I buy SI-35 converter which is 4000$ to use Cinema Prime Lenses from P+S, as i see on their website this lenses are Nikon mount, is it SI-35 just nikon mount lens coverter or it is more universal?

Ari,

Is the 2k-35 using a ground glass for its format conversion (with light loss & image softening) like the other P+S converters ? Or is it more like the Angeniex & new JVC converters ? (or something else altogether ?)
If it is a ground glass unit, how many stops does it soak up ?
I guess what I'm really asking is if there is an optical quality difference using the Zeiss Master Primes (or any other Nikon lens) on the 2K-35 as opposed to mounting them straight to the SI-2k?
And how large is the unit ?

The 2K-35 mounts directly to the interchange mount of the camera and has another interchange mount on the front. It consists of a combination of optics and projected imaging plane. There optics and packaging are not yet finalized. However, I would expect one-stop of light loss. We will be getting more details from P+S during the week.

I can say that SI is so versatile camera. with this selection of lens mount we will have more choises for using different types of lens, first choice would be cinema style lenses, but for situation where i need fish eye or 100-200mm tele
this is the way to go without having to buy expensive cinema lenses.
This is amazing.
