Hello, I have been following this camera and many others around for a long time now, and am interested in investing in one.

I have also looked at the HVX200, and the Canon XH-A1.

I am fairly sure I'm going to go for the v1 though.

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to send me some links or post some Sony V1 screengrabs and or video. Raw or color graded.

I have seen some of the great pictures posted in some of the other threads, and they are stunning.

Hi Justin - Here's a preview of a short film I shot last weekend. There hasn't been any color correction done, and it was shot and edited at 24p.
I've compressed the movie down for the web. I thought the v1u did a great job.

Looked good. I have the V1U also and I haven't had much of a chance to shoot (except some test footage with the M2). Did you edit with Mac or PC (just wondering if you had to do the 24p conversion 'trick' in FCP, or you are fortunate enough to have the Vegas workflow)?

Hi Tony, I'm using Compressor from FCS, and the H.264 LAN preset. I was really pleasantly surprised as well at how clean the image looked after it was compressed. Thanks for checking it out.

Todd, I am actually editing in fcp so I've been doing the extra cinema tools trick. It's even one step worse than that because I'm shooting everything on this DR-60 drive that only writes m2t files. So those have to be converted to quicktime first, then I can reverse telecine.

Wow talk about stunning clarity. Man you just made my decision between the V1 and A1 harder. Still doing some hw on both. Thanks for sharing.

A note about FCS and the V1U. I don't know if you have an Intel Mac, but I do know that the Cineform codec (when used and booted into Windows) can capture directly from the DRV60 or V1U and remove pulldown correctly. These files can then be imported into FCP. I know that requires using/purchasing PC software, but until Cineform allows this directly into the Mac, it's an option.

Glad to see how great the footage looks after doing the Cinema Tools pulldown removal. Great Job!

Dave, I believe the LAN setting on compressor is around 1.4 MB/sec

The dolly shots were done with a table dolly. Those smooth library tables came in handy. ;)

Any other films being shot with the V1U?
