Just a test, wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions.

Can't view it because it is an AVI and Macs hate AVIs.

It works fine with OS 10.2.5 and QT 6.2. It viewed directly in Safari.

The cgi looked very nice. The bounce and reflections look very natural. Nice job.

If your on OS X then down load MPlayer, it plays Avi, DivX and ASF without problems. The file can be down loaded by right clicking (if you have a two button mouse) or Control-clicking and then choose Down load Link to Disk from the menu that appears. You can even choose MPlayer to be the default application for those formats so it will auto open and play if you like.

Windows Media player had problems with the codec. What did you use to compress it?

I used DivX MPEG 4 for compression.

Are you on a mac or PC?

Well, the glass pieces look very good. A bit pixellated, but I'm assuming that's just the compression for the web at work. The shadows on the floor are particularly impressive. I think the motion of it all needs a bit of work; the glass seems to bounce way too much. Unless you're going for a slo-mo kind of effect, I think the shattered glass needs to bounce a lot less for it to look less "CG". Otherwise, it looks very good.

The glass bounces way way too much indeed. I suggest you tape
a real piece of glass breaking to see how it goes. Also I think it
might be interesting (although difficult) to add a bit more
specularity to the pieces and have them reflect their surroundings
a bit (perhaps with HDRI maps?)

This is more a test of shadow than motion, real glass have little bounce. I don't know if our film will have a need for cgi glass, thanks for all the suggestions.
