I am a new DV user and have just purchased the XL2.
Am visiting the Kalahari desert in a week and need guidance for settings on this camera to record good sunsets and sunrises.
Any suggestions please?

can't help with concrete settings, but make sure you use manual focus and manual iris. Its much harder to record sunrise that sunset, coz you have to guess exposure and can't try it with sun, it would be too late already....

Carefull with your gain / The xl2 can pull beautifull detail in the shadow
areas just be carefull with the gain = noise/grain.
