I've purchased the Sony bluetooth microphone as well as the active shoe adapter with a stereo mini plug for my HC3. Line levels are too hot and have really bad AGC control, particularly when using the microphone adapter with my Audia Technica Pro88W wireless mic.

Does anybody know a way to disable AGC on the HC3; extra credit for a way to adjust line levels once AGC is off. If they remain too hot, I guess I can attenuate them with an external thumbwheel volume control.

I tried Sony support, but it didn't get very far. Thanks!

I am not completely sure. But I think there is no AGC control on my HC3.

I find it's fine when doing informal videos with the built in mic. But once I try to do interviews or something with the remote, things kind of fall apart a bit. I usually end up having to voice over most of the work.

How do you cope?

I was not terribly happy with the HC3 built-in mic. I used Rode SVM with it using VMCK-100 adapter. I recorded seminars and they came out as expected. So I would presume the setup should have worked for interviews too.
Now I have got hv20 which has a mic level control.

Thanks Ajit. I also have the VMCK adapter, and it work pretty well with the AT Pro88W except for when there are severe changes in volume, say laughter, clapping, or the onset of music. In those cases the system can breath fairly badly as it tries to normalize the levels. If the sound is fairly constant, it does o.k. except being a little hot.
