I am finding myself having a hard time editing m2t and getting it to mpeg properly. I am using the m2t's in sony vegas to edit with and then trying to export and so far the only thing I can get it converted to is an avi. After AVI I cannot get it to MPG and have it play correctly.
Do I need to convert from m2t to something intermediate before I use vegas? Any help would be great!

Kevin,
I don't know anything about Vegas; I use Premiere. Premiere lets me export to a number of formats including .m2t, .mpeg, .mov and .avi. I am sure Vegas does that too. You just have to play around with Vegas settings.

You don't say what version you are using. In Vegas7, you select File, then Render As, then select Main Concept mpeg2, and then select the HDV 1080-60i template.

I am using vegas 7. I was trying to render in 1080 24p HD standard but I am seeing that doesn't work very well. I tried the 1080p 24p intermediate HDV codec and it seemed to work better for me. I can now play it on my media players and on my ps3. Shot a short Music video using the only change as going to 24p. I was very impressed by the quality of the camera. I have much to learn about filiming and such but love what this has to offer.
If I can find a good spot I will upload the clip.

For uploading large clips, MegaUpload.Com is very good. Check it out.
