May 17th was the norwegian constitution day. We're very patriotic in Norway, and its like July 4th in the US.

I made a video of the fireworks in Bergen, Norway that evening.
I have added the norwegian national anthem to the video, and compressed it as much as I dared without seriously affecting video quality. Bitrate is 7Mbit.
The file is in WMV format.

I have 2 download links for you:

Sometimes low bandwidth if there are many simultaneous users, but its online even if I'm not.

My own server, max bandwidth 2.5Mbit.
Rightclick+download for best results.

The file is 173MB and may take a while to download.

What settings did you use?

I used the fireworks setting and a tripod.
Should have had a wide angle converter too cause some of the footage is too close, but the result is ok overall.

Very well done, Rune! I'm not sure if a wide angle view would have helped much, the zoom setting you used shows details that would be missed with a wider view. Did you have to manually adjust focus? Thanks for sharing.

It was shot on autofocus.

Awesome video, very nice & clear- thanks for the preview/inspiration for our July4! Glad to see it held the resolution/colors and focus so well in that mode.
I tried fireworks for the heck of it earlier in night shots, and it seemed to strobe a lot (slow shutter), so hope mine turns out as well (likely depends on light level.)

Will have to see if I can lug my tripod along w/ family beach chairs to watch ours :)

The compression was pretty well done. Only a bit of color shift in the dark sky but we weren't watching that part :)

Thanks for watching :)
I tried several compressions, one at 10mbit, one at 7mbit and one at 5mbit, designated HQ, MQ and LQ, and the LQ was way too low bitrate to get a nice picture. HQ was very nice but a bit too large to share, so I settled for the MQ at 7mbit as a compromise.
