I would like some suggestions on the type of video/graphic cards (PCI Express). Anyother gadget I missed to edit HDV? (like blackmagic cards?)

You only need a firewire/ieee1394 connection to edit HDV.

For video cards, I would recommend something like the NVidia 7900GS cards for about $150. You don't need a fast video card for HDV, but a few software applications like Magic Bullet support rendering acceleration with the VPU so a completely wimpy card wouldn't help much. If you never use 3d applications and don't plan to ever use Magic Bullet, you can save money and get something like the 7300GT for under about $85. It still has 3D capability but is slower. The main processor and your RAM are the keys for rendering speed with HDV. You should be fine with what you have. I don't know much about that motherboard, but you are definitely in the ballpark with all your components. Make sure you have at least one hard drive dedicated to video clips and try not to use the system drive for video content.
