Phillips May 29th, 2007, 07:53 AM Took this shot on the weekend at my cabin 62 degrees North is this fellow lost or not. Help.....Brian That bird has definately taken a wrong turn somewhere. That's an adult male Western Tanager. Everybody probably warned him not to take that shortcut! Rick Brian McKay May 30th, 2007, 09:30 AM Thanks Rick: No one in the group had ever seen such a bird in this area. He was amazing to watch as he hunted flies. The cabin exterior is warming up by the sun and as it does the flies that found a home for the winter in cracks and behind trim are coming out and this fellow was feasting on them grabbing them in a mid air chase. Now that I have the name of the bird I'll do some research as to what should have been the northern limit of his range. Once again thanks Brian Chris Barcellos May 30th, 2007, 09:43 AM That bird has definately taken a wrong turn somewhere. That's an adult male Western Tanager. Rick Don't let this picture out !!! You know how our women rag on us males about not wanting to stop and ask directions...... Dale Guthormsen June 2nd, 2007, 06:58 PM New bird for me!!! totally cool.
