My Panasonic GS180 started destroying my tapes, and even started making screeching noises about 2 weeks ago. I used a head cleaner about 6 times in a row, and all is good! If this happens again, what should I do? I'm thinking of purchasing a Mack warranty, while the camera is still working. Or, can I fix the camera myself if it happens again?

Six times you say? You probably shouldn't use a head cleaner that many times in a row, and you shouldn't have to. Head cleaners put a lot of wear on the heads. If this happens again send it in for repair. If your warranty hasn't expired yet send it in ASAP, because it will probably happen again.

And yes, i've used a head cleaner.

Head cleaners usually fix this problem, but with the trouble you have been having, I would send it in for repair.

And pay $248? o_o
That's 3/4 the value of the camcorder!

If it's not economical to send it in, then it sounds like it's time for a new camcorder.

Could a professional head cleaning fix it? Now there's just blue lines on the video.

This all started when I put a tape with some honey on it into the camcorder, is the problem maybe because there's honey on the heads? If so, how can I clean it without paying $250? (ive used a head cleaner)
