Hi
I think it is on time to replace my wooden legs ...

My video head is a Manfrotto/Bogen 516 flat base and it sits on a Berlbach wooden legs which are actually meant for still photography. The Berlbach have a small ball on top for levelling.

The camera is a Canon xl1s equipped with an slr lens , so there is a lot of magnification (up to 4000 mm in slr terms).
as I have never seen a half bowl tripod I would like your help.

I intend to use my Manfrotto 516 head with an adapter.
Would this 'ball leveler' work for me ? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=cart_accessories&A=details&Q=&sku=126666&is=REG
is it a standard item that will work for any brand of legs ?

Second, I need to choose legs .
I shoot outdoors (birds) with the rig I mentioned , always in a run&gun style.
moving around with the rig ready to shoot so I need something not to heavy.
I thought this one would be good. would it ?

Thanks for your advice
