Hi guys, i'm having some problems downconverting 1080p files to SD, and i posted it on the Canon XH-A1 forum. But it seems the problem is software related, and i don't know what i'm doing wrong. Can someone help me?
Here is the link to the original thread: http://dvinfo.net/conf/showthread.php?t=95365
Thanks.

Hi Luis,
What are you viewing the PAL downconversion on?
Remember CRT are interlaced and LCD are progressive.

I'm viewing it on my ACD and on my TV after burning the DVD. I tried both progressive and Interlaced mpeg2 encoding and the problem remains.

Hi Luis,
I'm sorry I'm not familiar with your camera, but you could try a couple of things.
Have you tried digitaizing/editing your footage as 1080i?
Have you tried dropping your 1080p timeline into an SD timeline?
Liam.

Have you tried the legendary Bonsai Method:

Well I just tried this out and I must say that it makes a pretty big difference watching 720p60 downconverted to a DV timeline monitoring my CRT and Pro JVC LCD.
Next I'll try burning a DVD to see if the method holds up.
