Hi,
currently I own the Manfrotto/Bogen 503/525 Head and sticks, but I'd like to upgrade to the next step...
Do you think the Sachtler DV4 II head with sticks is a step forward or not...?
I'd like to rent the Sachtler DV4 II to try it, but there's no equipement rental in my area.
So I can't try it out. Has anyone made experiences whith the DV4 II?
I'd go with the Sachtler DV6 SB because of the Speed-Balance and the more drag settings, but I think my camera setup will not reach the weight minimum.
I use ( will use ) the tripod with my DVX100b and depending on the shoot with WDR35pro 35mm-Adapter with rods, Chrosziel Mattebox, 7" LCD Monitor , LA7200 Anamorphic adapter, Century Optics .7 WA converter , shotgun mic , on-camera light. of course not all of this will be used at the same time, but my heaviest setup will be DVX100 + WDR35pro 35mm-Adapter with rods + matte box + mic. Do you think I should stay with the Manfrotto 503/525 combo ( the smoothness of the head doesn't really impress me...) or change to the Sachtler DV4 II head with sticks (which I could get for 900 US$). Will the Sachtler finally make me happy...?
Best wishes,
Manfred

...According to Sachtler's website, the DV6SB has minimum weight requirement of just over 2 lbs, while the DV4 II's is just over 6 lbs. If their website is accurate, then the 6SB is a better choice.
