I have a audio technica AT8415 shock mount and a Gitzo boom Pole 8557.

The gitzo pole came with a rubber cap on top of a thing threaded screw. It's rather small in diameter, and much smaller than what goes into the threaded mount for the Shock Mount.

Does anyone have this combo? or know what I should do to fix this?

Actually, the link did work,

Check it out, The shock mount doesnt need an adapter, it actually has an adapter screwed in already for a microhphone stand. i removed it, and the Gitzo boompole fits in.

John,

You are correct. The mic stand threaded portion (with the knurelled grip) unscrews from the shock mount allowing it to thread onto boom poles and other items.

If you really need some high (9') mic stands, many lighting stands such as the Calumet Photo (www.Calumetphot.com) or Bogen Monfronto have a rubber cap that covers a 1/4x20 screw. I attach the shock mount to a light stand to get the mic up in the air to record a concert of ambient sound at an event.

Audio-Technica supplies a great brass insert to adapt the 1/4x20 threads of a European mic stand to the standard 5/8"x27 US type with all of their new Artist Elite series mics. These inserts can also be used on a light stand to convert it into a mic stand.

Contact A-T parts for more info on this little problem solver.

Cheers.
