I have just bought a top end PC from Dell (4gb ram,2.66ghz pro,graphics/sound cards,etc. I went to PC World in Liverpool to buy Sony Vegas 7 and the guy said it's not compatible with my Canon XH-A1 because of the frame rates(25f)

Hi Phil, im not quite sure why he told you this but sony vegas 7 will work fine with that frame rate, infact sony will work fine with any frame rate (theres been issues with 50/60p but theres ways round it). Download the free demo from http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/step2.asp?DID=698 and hook your camera up. Make sure you choose the right project setting from the file menu to match your source footage tho. Hope this helps
