Tanglewood - SD9 Footage
I bought an SD9 a few months back to test my possible future workflow in HD with the HMC150, also to have a nice small 24P HD camera, and so far so good.
I work for a video company that mainly does live video and projection, and during the summer we shoot all the summer concerts for the Boston Symphony at Tanglewood in Lenox, MA. Well I had a few hours off between the morning rehearsal and that nights concert, so I wondered round the grounds and shot a few things. Nothing fancy, just random stuff. If anyone is how I got such a wide angle on some of the shots, I'm using a cavision .3x fisheye. http://vimeo.com/1468194 I've also uploaded a version thats not color corrected for anyone who wants to see what the raw footy looks like. http://vimeo.com/1469240 |
Nice videos, but it seems that the raw footage of the SD9 is over saturated
|
Everyone keeps saying that about this camera, but I just don't see it. Maybe It's me, but I like a little over saturation in the colors, I can at least bring them down a little if I need to.

Have you noticed
Hi Bo, very nice footage, to start off with I thought it was a photo, until I saw a very slight breeze. The colours are very rich, but my SD9 produces exactly the same results, even down to the fringing around objects set against the sky.

Some of the fringing might be from the color correction, but any fringing around the edges of the shots is from my fisheye adapter.

My one fringes like hell when shooting aircraft against the sky, almost looks like its been oversharpened & I'm not the only one to notice it.
