Adobe encore recording HD on DVD-r

Hi,
I am just playing around to see if I can record HD 1440x1080P video on a single layer DVD. I should be able to record about 20-30 minutes of video. I exported the video from Premiere Pro CS5 and imported into Encode as a Blu-ray disc format. I then created a Blue-ray disc ISO image file. Everything is good so far. I used the built in Burner software in Windows7 to write the content to a single layer DVD. My Panasonic SC-203 Blu-ray player says the disc is a DVD-R (AVCHD) disc but will not play it. The player should be able to play AVCHD video according to the operating manual.
Any thoughts on what I can try next or will this just not work?

Re: Adobe encore recording HD on DVD-r

I have done this a few times and it is definitely possible to burn BR to a DVD disk and play successfully in BR players.
One restriction is that the data rate needs to be limited to max of 16-18 mbs range- any higher data rate and the DVD will not play properly.
I have always used the free ImgBurn software for burning the Encore authored BR ISO file to the DVD and have never had a problem playing back on a Sony BR Player with latest firmware.
It is possible that the problem is the Pana BR player, so you might test the disk on some other players to check out that angle.
Anyway- it definitely can be done, and even at the lower data rate, it looks really good on HDTV :)
