High class AVCHD camcorders from Panasonic on the way.
Looks like we will finally see a replacement for the DVC30.
http://syphaonline.com/SYPHAnewsitem...070427-03.html This is very good news. |
There was a similar press release nearly 2 weeks ago but I don’t think it ever got posted.

Unless I'm missing something new .... there have been articles on this since at least early Feb, including pictures of both the cam and 40GB HD unit.

this is encouraging. I may be getting into shooting weddings after editing them for a year or two, and am anxious about this new format. I've seen way too many mini-dv tape dropouts, mis-aligned recordings, and dirty head recordings.
The article at least lets us know where Panasonic wants to go. I am not satisfied with their current AVCHD camcorders of course. I would like to see a dvx100 like camera. In the mean time, I would like to see Japan's full 1920 resolution edition come to the U.S. |
As far as I can see it has no wired remote, no viewfinder and a lower data rate than the Sony's.
