high res low res swap out.

i am current working on a project using avid express pro, and about a year ago when we was originally working on it the plan had been to capture it in a lower quality, then after we cut it, recapture the footage in high quality, and swap it in. i was not the person who was originally planning on this, and only have a basic knowledge of avid, so i dont know how to do this. is there an easy way to do this?

Hey Christopher,

Yeah, sure, this is easy to do. You already have it captured in low rez? 15:1 maybe?

When you finish your edit you can recapture in a couple of ways. You could make a copy of your sequence in a new bin, select it and choose "batch capture" from the bin menu. Make sure to deselect "offline media only", and choose the new resolution you want to capture at.

Or you can use decompose.

Search for "recapturing sequences" in the help file for details.
