Sound Card Configuration After Reformat
 

Hey all,

I have a strange issue. I reformatted and reinstalled everything over the holidays. Everything works great, except that AVID (Xpress Pro 5.7.7) won't let me change the "Use Windows Mixer" setting in the Sound Card Configuration settings. It's enabled, and I would like to disable it. When I click on it, nothing happens...

I have a Soundblaster Audigy on a decidedly non-approved system.

Windows XP Pro SP3
P4 2.5 Gig
Gigabyte GA-8RSX mobo
GeForceFX 5900XT
2Gigs DDR333

Any ideas?

Sounds like Drivers to me if it's a re- install.

I suggest you download the latest drivers for the sound card and see if that resolves the proble.

Huh, that did it. Strange, because I had used the same drivers for the reinstall.

I went to the Creative site, downloaded what they suggested, and the version number is earlier than I had before. What the heck it that?
