Here is an interesting side bar - a theatre in Missouri has banned children from 6-16 in order to show more adult themed movies (not porn!). They've dropped "G" and "PG" movies from their screens. People with young children were turned away.

I can't tell you the number of times I've been to "R" rated moves, only to hear babies crying, toddlers asking for candy and mumbling nonsense and then having their mothers yelling at them!

Maybe larger cities do this, but a nice alternative might be to have a daycare type facility at the theatre!

In Vancouver there is one theatre that still has a crying room.

Some theatres have also invited parents to bring their children to certain screenings. Not sure if they get a break or something.

On the other hand, I've been to a few PG and PG-13 films that had their ratings elevated to R by uncouth parents themselves.

Overheard from the row in front of us at Jurassic Park III (which was rated PG-13):

Hahaha. Absolutely correct, RKS. I've been in both theatres! We had a cell phone ring TWICE last night, answered and a communication ensued.

The earpiece volume was so loud that I could almost make out the person on the other end - from two rows away! I pitied the people right beside the phone.

You would have pitied them if I sat next to them. Out of the last 5 movies I've seen, twice I had to get an usher to tell some #&*$ to shutup. I asked them both nicely to be quiet. One guy told me to kiss his you know what. Even harder to believe is these guys were both in their 60s! You'd think they would know better.

Harlan Ellison tells a story about how he and a friend witnessed someone murdered in a theatre because they wouldn't shut the freak up. They were sitting on the balcony and some homies were yakking the theatre up without a care. Then a voice came down from the back telling them to shut up. The homey goes nuts and says he'll kill whoever said that. Then the man behind the voice rushes down the aisle, picks up the homey, and throws him over the balcony. The Voice walks up and sits down again. Everyone waits until the movie is over and the guy has left before budging from their seats. The homey is down below amid broken seats, dead.

Very interesting. Road rage, sports-parent rage, now theatre rage.

A by-product of society, violent movies or simply unbalanced people? A combo, maybe? Perhaps he had too many JR MINTS and will use the "Twinkie Defense".

I thought it was a good movie. I don't feel rip off. It was a easy PG13 movie. Not R.
The effects were good and Arnold was great. He will make a good govenor too.

I don't see a T-4 but I do think maybe a spin off movie with John Connor.

Hell, why not Arnie for President. He gets better lines than Bush and is more articulate besides.

As for T4, they obviously set it up for one - whether Arnie will be back or not, who knows. If it's about the money, then I wouldn't be surprised. That's a good thought about a John Conner spin-off.

Last I heard George Miller was in development with it and Mel Gibson had signed on. I would rather Mel did an ageing warrior thing rather than it being a 'handing off the torch bit' to a younger star. Like Heath Ledger as his son. Bleah.
