at some point, somebody has to claim originality, for even those philosophers were reiterating other people's points. they were the first to write them down, but those thoughts are definitely not new nor unique to them.

either way you cannot deny the power of the matrix to provoke the proddings of the intellectual bays. those are some of the true marks of great films.

I'm in between about how to consider Star Wars. Although they were orginally written, or at least conceived as a whole, they were not produced or fleshed out together. Also the major story of the first three (Eps 1,2, & 3) was the rise of the Republic, and the next three the fall of the Republic. Those are the reasons why I would divide them. If the creators of Kill Bill, or Lord of the Rings series could have gotten away with releasing a single 5 and 10+ hour film, respectively, and still made the same box office figures, they would have.
