Oh wow, I do remember those! I've got to find more of that stuff...I remember watching cartoons and all those Japanese shows in my my area.

We used to have like 7 channlels total - VHF and UHF. Anyone remember creature feature double feature??

Check this out - you won't remember them until you click on them and look at all the photos. It's a trip!

Great link! I remembered almost all of those shows. TV Land should have no problem with this kind of content available. Thanks Chris!

I remember all of those, except maybe Star Blazers. Megas XLR sometimes spoofs Battle of the Planets. There was also a new Ultraman on TV a couple years ago, Ultraman Tigra.

As far as Creature Feature, I remember watching Dr Paul Bearer on Saturday afternoons, out of Tampa/St. Petersburg Fla. Same one you remember?

How about Thunderbirds?

Ok, this is bad...or good? I've spent the last 2 hours looking up old shows I used to watch. It took an hour to find the name of this one show....it's called, "Danger Island". It was shot in 1968 by Richard Donner (Superman director) and it had a charactor called, "Chongo". Everyone who watched it would know the phrase, "Uh oh....Chongo!"

I found that show and watched a clip...now I'm happy. :)

K. Forman February 1st, 2005 05:12 PM

Danger Island was a mini-show, found on the Banana Splits T.V. show... Now we know who the old farts are ;)

Christopher C. Murphy February 2nd, 2005 07:44 AM

Old farts?! I'm 32 yrs old, how old are you?? lol

Sid and Marty Kroft power hour, wasn't it?

K. Forman February 2nd, 2005 11:16 AM

Wasn't the power hour Sigmund and the Sea Monsters/ H.R. Puffenstuff? It does seem to me, that the Banana Splits did have two shows, one a half hour, the other a full hour. This was also quite a few years ago. I was only able to watch some of these shows when we went up North for Christmas. Our TV selection was kind of sparse back then.

But I did watch Star Trek when it first ran, as well as Lost In Space and Dark Shadows.

Keith Loh February 2nd, 2005 11:17 AM

Maybe I have it wrong.

I thought it was the third part of the Power Hour which was:

Elektra Woman and Dyna Girl, Doctor Shrinker .. and one other which I thought was Danger Island.

Huh, from my internet search I read that there was a remake of "Land of the Lost", I must have been stoned when that happened!

and anything from SID AND MARTY CROFT!

I nver got into the anime thing although Iremember those shows (and Speedracer)

K. Forman February 2nd, 2005 03:13 PM

There is a new Speed Racer out, and the art is much better, as is the story and animation. You can catch it on Nick's other channel, Gas.

John Britt February 2nd, 2005 07:12 PM

Jeez, I never realized there was such a sordid history behind Battle of the Planets! Multiple, re-edited versions? A hermaphroditic Zoltar? This makes me want to hunt down the original Gatchaman series -- which I never even knew the name of before today!
