"Nothing really works. It's not suspenseful. It's not romantic. It's certainly not fun," said Stephen Schaefer of the Boston Herald. "It seems like you're in there forever. And you're conscious of how hard everybody's working to try to make sense of something that basically perhaps is unfilmable."

They want to ban the film in the Phillipines for religious reasons. Some other places are taking the same approach. Saw it on the CBS Morning Show today.

I'm not surprised at the reaction it has had, it was a fore gone conclusion that it would be a negative reception considering the vast majority of people in the world have religious beliefs.

The reason i'm interested in it is because my company was in the middle of filmming our own feature called "Roslyn" ,which is about the templars and the grail, when Dan browns book was released. We shot on an xl1s and only had a 10k budget, we couldn't believe it when the book was released let alone a movie,

Since we are working on weekends and when actors are available it has taken us the last 2 years to film and we were actually denied access to Rosslyn chappel because of the davinci code.

All that aside i'll still go and see it because i love films.

Andy.

That's crazy. Did you ever end up finishing it?

Andy Graham May 28th, 2006 04:46 PM

We're in post at the moment, the film was origionally a two week shoot but we had the worst weather i've ever seen during those two weeks and our main location which was a woodland near my house was actually chopped down during production if you can believe it, a woodland that has been there my whole life chopped down in the two weeks we chose to film.

It is a cursed production and I'll be glad to see the back of it, even though i won't give up on it.

All the negative reviews, and yet the box office reciepts don't lie...

It is a known Hollywood trait that bad films can make lots of money. And sometimes good films bomb out. You can just look at any money maker hollywood has and all you see is a B grade film

Oscar Wilde once said: "By giving us the opinions of the Uneducated, Journalism keeps us in touch with the ignorance of the community."

Wilde reffers not only the "letters tot he editor" section and the journailsts, but also to those who look at an issue from one side. Saying that a movie gets negative reviews and makes money doesnt mean its a good film

Woody Allen also said on leterman sometime in the early 90's if I remember correctly (paraphrased): "When I get a great review, people come to me saying "I'll go see it" but no one goes to see it. When I get a bad review people dont go to see it, and no one sees it. But If I get a bad review but I piss people off, the nuts come see it."
