Burn 1920x1080 blu-ray in Vegas 8.0b?
 

I've successfully burned 1440x1080 blu-ray to standard DVD. They play back fine on the Sony PS3.

I've tried making several templates with custom settings for 1920x1080 and various combinations of frame rate and pixel aspect..... No luck. PS3 errors with unsupported format. I must of went through 10 DVDs which are now coasters.

Also, I see that 15Mbps is one of the default settings for 1440x1080 blu-ray. Can you set this to 20Mbps and have it work? Or is it another coaster.

First of all why go thru 10 DVDs? If you are testing a process, you are much better off using a DVD+/-RW. That way if one doesn't work, simply write over it next time. No need to keep creating coasters.

PS3 reads raw video data disks, being in HDV or AVCHD etc, because its a PC at its heart. But once you edit the data or change the format even slightly PS3 won't read it, you need to author it in BD format. I don't recall Vegas support HD authoring.

Anyway I use Ulead MF6+ for authoring Bluray films, and then burn it on a DVD or DVD DL disk. I usually leave the video at its original bit rate, in HDV's case at 25 mbps. So the bottom line is you can author onto a regular DVD5 or 9 at whatever bit rate or matrix size you choose in Bluray format and the disk will play just like a commercial disk in PS3 or other players.

Yes, it does have the ability to write blu-ray to DVD right from the timeline and it works using their Blu-ray 1440x1080 templates.

My question is to Vegas users if they are able to get a 1920x1080 blu-ray from the timeline to standard DVD. My original footage is 1920x1080 square pixels.
BTW, DVDs are real cheap...

I've burnt standard dvd discs as Blu-ray but don't have a BD Player or PS3 so don't yet know if it's worked.
If i ever want to know anything about vegas,the second place i go is youtube,so many tutorials on there.

It turns out the Sony AVC templates only offer 1440x1080.
If you select m2t,m2v, the templates offers 1920x1080 24P.

thats why sony should just offer Blu-Ray right in DVD architect, and one can just render the usual chapter points, make menus etc. and burn to a blu ray disc. simple. just needs sony to put it there, like comeon, nero and so many other companies have it already but the developer of bluray doesnt?:(
