Matching C100 with BMPCC
Does anyone have experience matching the C100 with a BMPCC or BMCC? I would like to match to BM's Film and Video dynamic range profiles. I'd settle with a less than perfect match, just need to get close. I need to use a pocket camera as a B camera for a shoot next week.

I'd be interested in finding out as well. I suppose that if you shoot both at their flatter profiles and simply match them later before editing.

I think the first question you've got to answer is whether you're going to be shooting in raw or pro-res.
The BMPCC has a severely baked-in look that I've found is almost impossible to overcome in ProRes...but I have seen some decently graded footage from those working in raw. Basically, shift all your yellows red, and mostly say goodby to any semi-vibrant greens. The more I look at footage off that camera, I've decided that it's perfect when the client wants an instagram look...you hardly need to grade it to get those vintage 70's colors. FWIW I returned mine after a month, as it was just a poor fit to my workflow with the c300. Barry |
