C300 mark I I magnification not working while rolling
 

Did the firmware upgrade several weeks ago. C-log 3 and magnification while rolling worked fine. However, two months later, now magnification has decided not to work while rolling. Still works while not recording.

I checked the camera, I am in firmware update 1.04.100. I need to upgrade again to 1.05.100...

The other day, turned camera on and it did a reset on its own... where I had to reprogram the time and day. Could this have affected the camera? Am I missing a menu setting where you activate magnification? Sitting in long interview now and going thru menus, not seeing anything unusual.

Available while recording is greyed out, took photo but site isn't allowing photo upload.

Hmm, I just went through the menu and tried to replicate your issue. It says Magnification while Recording and AF Face Detection can't be used simultaneously, so when I turned on Magn it greyed out Face Detection in the menu. Maybe you hit a magical setting that did the opposite - keeps Face Detection but greys out Magn while Recording.

That's a good theory, but I'm using a 7x17 cinema lens that does not have it's firmware upgraded yet. (Lens firmware needs upgrade to use auto focus functions). All the AF settings areally greyed out, since they won't work with this lens and the "MF" (manual focus) setting is engaged.

I'm going to do a firmware update again today, once done with shoot. I'll test again after that.

Hi Scott

I had the exact same issue. My camera reset itself, now the magnification won't work whilel recording.

Did you find a solution to this? Thinking about resetting again to. See if this helps.

I am on the latest firmware and I can change that setting if I power up the camera with no lens attached.

When the camera resets, the magnification while recording feature is turned off.

To turn it back on, go Menu>Assistance Functions>Magnification> Available While Recording>On
