Crane with the 7D

Ok, maybe a stupid question, but I have 4 Canon A1s with all the setup to make them functional for me. I have all the tripods, cranes, dollies, etc.

What adapter could I use to be able to use all those things with the 7D?

Also, a more "hands-on" question. How is it to use these with the 7D? Is it harder/easier since it's so small and light weight? Or do you even notice when it's mounted? Is there any difference shooting video with a SLR as opposed to a "regular" video camera (mechanically speaking--hands on feel, technique, etc.)

Well the 7D has a standard tripod mount point, so you can mount it to anything that uses a 1/4"-20 threaded screw. Most consumer and pro tripods do, unless there's a special mounting plate for ENG/EFP or studio cameras. In short, the mounting is the same for the 7D as it is for the XH-A1s you have.

Also depending on the lens you use, battery grip, and any other accessories you may have attached... the 7d could potentially out weight you A1 so its not that it is lighter, it could be, it could be the same weight, it could be heavier.

If you are worried about the weight being too little thought, you could always get a few weights to add to your rig.
