7D, EX-1, GH-1: does "size matter"??

3 Attachment(s)
This are the cameras setups we use to shoot the santafetvshow.com. There is a fourth camera - EX-1, but is kept pretty much stripped down to just a little matte box in case we need to use it with 4x4 filters. It is intentionally kept simple for run and gun use and hard to reach places.

The main EX-1 has FF and matte box with french flag and side flaps, wireless G2 system attached to it with a couple of Bracket1 supports (to the right side of the camera) which gives you other choices to attach more stuff "out of the way".

The 7D has a Chrosziel matte box with different rails and a plate that can adjust in height and sideways. Also attached is a remote for timelapses. Matte box slide back and forth easy in case we need to use the zoom (not very often - Tamron 17-50)

The GH-1 has the "pancake" lens and also the stock 14-140 lens.
The difference in size is almost "disturbing" (!!!), but NOT, in my opinion, the difference in picture quality! Amazing...

Hope you enjoy this picture!

That Lumix really is tiny, isn't it. It would make a great guerrillacam for those situations where you don't want people to think you're doing anything serious.

The Lumix is smaller than most people think.
I did a shoot last week with the Red One mounted on a jib, and used the GH1 for handheld B camera work. It cut together beautifully.

All the Best!

Once you have a viewfinder on these cameras - even for stills - why do we need the complexity of the mirror?

Smaller size, less complexity, cheaper.

I would like to see a scaled down, full frame sensor, mirrorless camera.

We would have a video camera that shoots stills instead of a still camera that shoots video that we have now.

Last weekend we shot the rehearsal of the Buffalo Thunder Casino & Resort Fashion show..
The purpose of the shoot was to just get b-roll for the upcoming episode of the santafetvshow.com

Well, the night of the show we were invited just a guests and sponsors...I took the GH-1 with me anyway and did all handheld shots from the second row, and... ended up intercutting a lot of that footage with the EX-1 and 7D we shot with the day before!! That camera is amazing, so small nobody really sow me shooting.

One of the models in the runway was actor Wes Studi, very cool guy!

I will post some clips soon.
