which wide angle?

Seriously considering buying the tamron as a less expensive wide angle/multi purpose lens. I have read many good reviews about its great quality for price but am always looking for more input. Im also thinking bout saving up a bit more for the canon 10-22 or maybe the 16-35 instead.. Keep in mind im a student on a somewhat tighter budget.
thanks

If you can find one, the Tokina 11-16 is stunning!

I just got the Canon 10 - 22mm lens yesterday. Wasn't even planning to buy a lens, but the shop owner had one of these and let me try it out. As soon as I got over saying "Wow!" I bought it immediately.

I've seen some very nice shots from the Canon 16-35. For a good lower budget wide angle, there's also the Tokina 16-50, which is what I've been using. It's good and sharp wide open (it's a full f2.8 lens) but seems to get a little soft when zoomed in all the way to 50mm at 2.8. I bought it for wide angle use, so that's not a problem for me.
