Thanks Ben. I still haven't made my purchase because I just haven't had a real need for the 70-200 lens yet. I already have a Nikon 80-200 2.8 left over from all the years I shot with Nikons. I think I'll stick with it for now until I see more need to switch to the Canon. My 17-55 2.8 IS has covered nearly all my need so far. Thanks to everyone for their advice. I appreciate it.

I have the Tamaron and love it. Image stabilization and turns out great stuff. You could have borrowed it before you bought to see if you liked it. The Canon is a great lens as well.

Speaking of the 17-55 2.8 IS...

I am debating which wide lens I should get for my 7D. Mainly to shoot indoor film quality footage. I am kind of between these three:
EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS
EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II
Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8

Any advice?
