Tamron 28-105mm f2.8

Tamron 28-105mm f2.8 (model 276D) – discontinued in 2004

I got this lens about a month ago and it is been on camera 90% of the time. Found myself leaving primes in the bag most of the time.

Pros:
- 2.8 constant aperture
- 28-105mm zoom
- Canon mount (no need for adapters)

Cons:
- Lens is very heavy - 845g (29.8oz)
- 82mm filter
- Slow auto focus (photographers)
- Little bit soft wide open

I like the zoom range and constant aperture... Is this lens zoom ring direction different than Canon?

What frame rate did you shoot at? Also, what vimeo encode settings did you use? It seems quite smooth compared to my latest 1280x720 encode.

Yes, zoom is "backwards" than canon.

Video was shot 1280x720 60fps. I have transcoded footage using matrox codec in AME. Edited in Premiere CS4 1280x720 24fps and exported using youtube HD preset. I hope this answer your question.
