Data rate for HD video?

What is the datarate when shooting HD video in the 1080P mode? Is it the same for both the T2i and 60D? Is it the same for 720P?

It's the same all the time. Approximately 48mbps. I have not heard that the 60D has changed this from the 7D and T2i.

At the camera store recently, the salesman hardnecked said that the 60D had downgraded the recording quality compared to the 7D. I instinctivelly replied that he must have been mistaken, but he was very persistent.

Now. I can see on the specs, that while the 7D has a Dual Digic Prosessor, the 60D only has a single one.. Would that have any impact on the recording? Or is the Dual prosessor only there to maintain 8 FPS still shots?

It's believed that the extra processor is assisting with both the still frame speed, and to drive the HD monitoring out while shooting video. The 5D, 60D, and 550D do not have that chip, and none can push HD monitoring out while shooting.

HD video recording is the *same* across the entire EOS line, from the 1D Mk. IV down to the Rebel T2i.
