Most of the times these magnets are not that strong and the viewfinder keeps faling down.

I prefer LCD viewfinders that have a better and sturdier way of mounting but can be unmounted eazily and they don't occupy the hot shoe or the tripod thread as I need both for other purposes.

This GGS LCD Viewfinder Loupes 3X For 7D 5DII 550D 600D ab41 | eBay UK is the best solution I've found so far and it's not expensive either.

It has a 4/3 shape but fits on 3/2 screens too.

This looks really neat and is certainly the right price.

Does the glue aspect of putting the protector on muck anything up?

Hey Spiros,
I've read: "for the 3" 3:2 ratio screen (such as Canon 550D, 600D, 60D, etc.), it will lose around 1mm for left and right side"

Do you find this to be a pain to frame up shots?

The frame gets mounted to the camera in such a way that it covers the proximity sensors located above the LCD.

When you try to remove the frame, the red plastic rectangles which cover the sensor will most likely come away with it.

This is what happened to me with the zacuto frame I used, and although I was able to put the bits back in place, one of the very fragile legs that clip them in to the camera was damaged, so now they are not firmly held in place.

As for the covering of the sensor by the frame, I have never encountered any issues from this.
