Night Shooting with the T2i
So, on suggestions by some folk here on the forum I picked up the 50mm 1.8 lens for the T2i. These are two test videos with the lens and a Manfrotto monopod.
Initial thoughts: *The lens, indeed, works wonders outside. In some instances (see the STORAGE SIGN) I was under no street light and was in a 1130pm darkness and it still picked up nice images. *Shooting off reflective surfaces like mirrors and windows worked well, too. I liked getting shots of the street in the window *It's light so was easy to just cart around comando style without detaching from the monopod *My monopod work is still very unsteady so I have some practicing to do there. At the moment, I am not as keen on that $300 monopod purchase and think a lightweight tripod might be better suited I started playing with speeds and white-balance for the first time, as well. Anyway, here are two test vids. Thoughts? Tips? *Night Walk .1: YouTube - ‪Nightwalk .1‬‏ *Night Walk .2: YouTube - ‪Nightwalk .2‬‏ |
Re: Night Shooting with the T2i
Excellent but did you say 1.4 or 1.8 as you tube says 1.8??

Re: Night Shooting with the T2i
Sorry, Steve, you are correct. It's the 1.8. A nice little lens for only $120 Canadian.

Re: Night Shooting with the T2i
Just another night footage test with the T2i at what I call the Carnival of the Depressed.
YouTube - ‪Carnival of the Depressed‬‏ As mentioned on Youtube, I am thinking I am not doing all I can with this camera to make the images look like some of the videos of I have seen online. For example, why are there motion lines on this when it didn't show in the video/render preview? (Might make another post about it) Shot this with the: 50mm 1.8 and the 55mm-250mm lens (both Canon) |
