I'm not so sure this bit about 'by their very nature distort' is true, Brett. You could say the same about telephoto lenses - the compression is a distortion of reality in the same way the wide-angle's expansion is a distortion.

My 20mm f/2.8 Canon lens doesn't distort, and this is easily proved by.photographing Brett's bathroom floor. What it does do is give large amounts of perspective distortion, but generally this is because I'm viewing the screen / print from the 'wrong' distance.

you can't find wider than 24mm for f1.4, but on the crop sensor it 's about 35mm - no too wide;
depending on the budget you can try Rokinon 14mm f2,8, or Canon USM 14mm f2,8 II, also tokina 11-16 is a good lens

I have the Canon 10-22mm and find the distortion really ramps up at the wide end, so I don't go past about 11.5mm, otherwise a nice lens to own. I have the Tokina too, and have been switching back and forth between the two, undecided which I like better. Just picked up the Canon Tilt and Shift 24mm. It's "L" rated and built like a Norton bomb sight. Nice for interiors but it's f3.5. I didn't test the T&S 17mm, but you might want to check into it.

Brett, I am also using a battery grip for my T3i.. so are we almost identical =)

Hi,

I have tried to do some research but can't find the right answer.

Would the Bolex 12mm, Olympus 12mm not work on the T3i with a lens adapter? They go down to f1.2.
