short note... the IS motor is pretty loud and very apparent when you record videos on the 5d II. I'm still trying to find the best solution to remedy that for quick shots like you are talking about

Lens IS problem?

I've been primarily using my Canon 5D with a Canon EF 24-70 2.8L lens. I been testing moves with my Sachtler tripod and noticed dreadful "frame shifts". It's like the frame skips a beat, stutters and then goes back to normal again. I get this when working long lens on the HVX200 when the OIS is on. The 5D "frame shifts" also occur during longer lens tripod moves (70mm)

My lens was disconnected a bit to lock aperture so I thought the IS in the lens would have turned off. Is this "frame shift" an IS problem or some other phenomenon?

Even with a full Nikon lens kit adapted to EOS, I can't say enough good stuff about the 24-105mm f4. The IQ is simply great and the form factor with the 5DII really makes it a great combination. This combination alone would be good enough to do serious film work with - IF you could get consistent results from it.
