Conforming footage HD > SD

Either I missed it, or I didnt look hard enough but i'm looking at finding a piece of software or a plugin that can take Canons 1080p files and be able to correctly squish them down to 720x480 DV footage in either a 0.92 or 1.2 pixel aspect ratio depending on the format of footage im working with. I'm not entirely sure if CineForms NeoScene does that as well but I would be looking for something easy to use and that can do batch conversions. If something of this sort exists i'd love to know more!

I found the TMPGEnc program can convert just about anything from/to anything. It has simple editing features but has the absolute best MPEG2 encoder I have tried to this date. It has a nice batch processing mode as well.

It reads 5DMKII files natively with no problems.

Jonathan,

This is from a Sony Vegas thread, but it's pretty in depth discussion on (quality) HD to SD workflow. It is a universal problem, regardless of NLE. Personally, I had issues with TMPGEnc and my Cineform .avi files, so I just went to VirtualDub - with great results.

Looks like ill give both of those programs a try to see what kind of results they are able to pump out. Thanks for those suggestions guys!

Thanks for the link to that thread. I hadn't seen that before. Good stuff in there.
