Ikan 5600, or hopefully user problem

are there any setting on 5D that could affect aspect ratio settings on the ext. monitor?
at first when I hooked up ikan 5600 to 5D was loking good and working properly,
now, it blacks out for 5 seconds every time I start/stop rec. and if it looks 16:9 in live view,
and the format is "wide" on the ikan settings, after I start rec. it is horizontally stretched,
so to have it 16:9 during recording I have to set ikan to 4:3 in live view, but those 5 sec blackouts are the worst;
do I need new monitor?
thanks!

5D reverts to SD output when recording, it is not your monitor. It does black out when the switch occurs I have been using a composite monitor when the needs arises, so I do not get the annoying switch over.

thanks for reply,
I know, but I was hoping Tramm will be able to unleash HDMI for the live view in the future,
plus for the shoulder rig it's nice to have smaller monitor; I was thinking about Marshall, to have peaking on 5D would be really handy, yeah, I guess Marshall it is

:)

Good news coming here. Trammel Hudson has probably busted this issue wide open, and is reporting success in a recent attempt.
