Hi all,

I had another shoot last night. I set the following:
1/60 - 1/40 when light was too low.
f2.8
ISO - 1250

The footage looks lovley and noise is acceptable IMO. However, when I play it in FCP it doesn't look perfectly smooth - its as if it slightly stutters/jitters but camera is on a rock solid tripod and there was no movement. Can anyone tell me what is the story? I never see this in footage I get with the EX3. WHat is the way to view footage from the 5D Mark 2 using FCP? Do I need to somehow manipulate it or should I expect it to play as it really is when just opened.

Thanks,

Ofer

Image Stabilization?

Perhaps your lens has image stabilization, and that was switched on. On a tripod, IS will make for some subtle movement sometimes.

Maybe?

Thanks Stephen, I used the Canon 24-70 which does not have IS so this is probably not the reason.
I suspect it is the way I try to play it on FCP.

Thanks,

Ofer

Problem solved!

Well, it is just my lack of experience with the 5D/FCP....(-:
Saved the clip as Apple ProRes 422 1920x1080 30p 48kHz and then palyed it again in FCP and it palyed beautifully!
Will put together a short clip and upload it soon.

Thanks guys - this forum is just fantastic with so many pros with such a great attitude and willingness to help.

Cheers,

Ofer
