Do Canons come with bundled lenses?

Sorry if this is the wrong section to ask (or indeed an obvious question) but does anyone know if the imminent EOS-1D C includes a bundled lense in the price?

Thanks!

I don't know for sure, but I doubt it, although sometimes Canon has rebates if you buy a particular body and lens at the same time. As far as I know it's usually cheaper, lower end cameras that come bundled with cheap kit lenses.

B&H sells it as body only.

I was referring to the camera model the OP was inquiring about. Only saw this one entry on B&H.
canon EOS 1D c

Price: $14,999.00

So far Canon has always sold it's DSLR's both, bundled with different lenses as kit or as body-only. Except for the 1D and 1Ds series, these have always been sold only as body-only.

Re: Do Canons come with bundled lenses?

Thanks everybody...

One more question - can anyone recommend a good basic lense for this model? Don't mean to offend anyone with this kind of ridiculous question! I know lense selection should be careful and judicious. But am just wondering if a person HAD to stick with one lense, say for example on a desert island, what would would they pick, say within a price range between $500 and $2,500.

When I have been forced to use one lense I have liked going a bit wider.

Any thoughts appreciated - just trying to get a rough figure for a EOS-1D C kit.

In that price range the Canon 24-105 f/4 L IS USM is a descent lens. Great build quality, sharp, optical stabalizer, nice range. Together with the 1D and an optional UV-filter for protection you have a an excellent camera for in a dusty environment.

unless you wanna go the primes way OC.....

Thanks Gabor! Actually I was looking at that lense this morning and I got the impression it was predominantly used for still images. Is it equally good for shooting video?

Or do Canon lenses for stills work equally well for video?

Re: Do Canons come with bundled lenses?

the lens in the promotional material for this camera is the Canon CN-E 24mm T1.5 L F Cine Lens - according to the blurb it "Supports 4K Recording Quality" but it costs nearly 7k...

I am looking for something that supports 4k video but is 2.5k or less :)

Like the 1D X, the 1D C will be packaged by Canon as a body-only box.
