In Need of a 2nd Cam
 

Hello,

I need to invest in a second camera for some live music shows i am shooting. My GL2 will be parked on a tripod for wide shots, pans, and steady closeups. The 2nd cam will be handheld, or on a monopod, for audience level shots of the performers. I'd like to get something small and light, perhaps another canon. My budget at the moment is pretty tight, I don't want to spend more than 500 us dollars. I'd also use this 2nd camera as a main transport for capturing my footage.

any suggestions for newer cams that match well with the gl2?

I think the Canon ZR800 would suit your needs. I find myself recommending it often. It costs about $279. It's only a 1-CCD, but it's a decent performer, and from my experience it can match up with the GL2 well. Plus, it's a great deck.
