Mic levels not the same...
 

On my new GL2; When the audio rec. level is on "auto", I notice that the left and right mic levels are not the same for a straight ahead sound source. Is there a method to calibrate the channels to match when in auto?

Hmmm... don't think so. When on auto it does what it says! The only way to mess with each channel is to have it in Manual and then you can adjust the levels. But I've been wrong before . . .

Still under warranty? Think the unthinkable . . .I would . ..

How far are they off? Is it within the nominal matching of channels in a single point stereo mic (which is probably within a few dB of each other)?

Note also that even if the source is straight ahead, room acoustics (location of walls, corners, etc.) coupled with the left/right directivity of the mic can effect the level recorded in each channel.

No matter the room or ahead source, one channel is just a little behind the other. It is however just a very small amount, (perhaps just a "click" or two), and I am sure nothing to worry about.

I just wanted to see if there was an attenuation method to tweak the one channel.

Don is very correct - can one be VERY correct?? - anyway, in the correct situation you can get "slightly different" results from left and right - couple of clicks? I didn't even notice them till I looked for them. I was too much in love with my XM2 to notice her little foilbes - well not a foilbe really - more of a . . .of a virtue when you think of it - yeah?
