does anyone shoot ice hockey?
 

I am looking for any tips for shooting hockey games with my GL2.
Settings,lense,filters........I have been shooting hockey for about 6 years,so I do have some experince.I have only been using the GL2 for about 4 months of that.I only use the optical which looks good.I do get pixels when I shoot from far up in thestands.Would a teleconverter be good for this?Where and how much?Also when I am up in the stands ,I am close to the lights.I think this maybe causing some hot spots in my video at certain ends of the rink.It comes and goes.All the feed back would be good.

do you have it set to manual exposure and have it bumped up 6dB? I'd start there and keep as fast a shutter speed as you can. It depends on the amount of light you have, of course. I'd also play a lot with the white balance and see what works best, trying some homemade warm cards if necessary.

I don't shoot hockey, but I shoot martial artists swinging sticks.
To produce stills (frame grabs) without much motion blur and sharper slow motion DVD playback, I tried increasing the shutter speed but was left with somewhat "strobey" video. One fellow mentioned my taping under flourescent lighting, but I think the issue is really about seeing discrete motion.

I am not familiar with warming cards, or at least the term.Can someone explain?Thanks for the feedback,keep it coming,hockey season is about 6 months total,so I need to act quickly.I did purchase a good quality tripod and head finally.That will definately help the panning part.I am still waiting on feedback on a teleconverter lense?

Although I have not used the warming cards, basically, they're colored cards used during your white balance. The warming cards look slightly blue, so when you white balance, you get a complementary golden emphasis.

Follow directions.

You can receive other swatchbooks, such as
