Anybody use this with their XM/GL : 2 ?http://www.antonbauer.com/home.htm

Considering doing something about making my shooting even more . .. steady=professional . . . without getting all shoulder mounted=budget - hahaha!

I think this is half the story interms of design. If you think about it, when not on tripod I would be on this shoulder thing . ..HOWEVER, there would appear a natural "extension" to the design that would act as THE steady arm FOR a tripod .. get what I mean? Meaning, that all I would have to do would be to clip this device back onto the tripod .. and off I'd go - easy peasy . ..

You've got to do some homework now to see if there is a model for the XM2 - they don't mention it :-(
Since all of the models shown are roughly the same format as the Canon, I think it must be with the power plate adapter that clips onto the camera, like when we use the mains adapter.

The DV Rig Pro is a much better shoulder support, in my opinion. It does not feature a built-in Anton Bauer Gold Mount but you could mount one on the DV Rig's back plate. (In fact, it's designed for that.)

I have a DV Rig Pro and will be jotting an article on it here in the coming weeks. But it's really an excellent, albeit rather pricey, shoulder support.

1 - I tried this out at the IoV Bash this last week

2 - It fits beautifully. Better than any of the "appliances" I've checked out before.

3 - The system is for the Anton Bauer power systems - cammie input and light. As you know there aint a ready to go "power" input for the XM2 unless I get funky with the slide-in shoe at the rear . . . as you say "must be with the power plate adapter that clips onto the camera"

Anyways, the balance and actual "feel" is nicely secure on the shoulder. It is well designed and looks the part.

I tried something very very like this 4 days ago. I didn't like the "pole" sticking down to my .. . well . .. delicate bits - yeah? I also found the the 2 handles a tad demanding. I couldn't get to the E/P very well . . seems like I would be on flip out for most of the time . .. you've got the XL1s yeah? It might work okay for that . .I wasn't too imprressed with it on the XM2 . .but thanks . .
