GL1-Help!-Must return to out point.

Hi; this is kind of ridiculous, but need help; have an assignment to shoot and edit a short completely in-camera, meaning no computer whatsoever.
If I need to retake a shot, is there any way to make the GL1 automatically cue to the last out point? Or do I have to literally frame-by-frame it using the remote, which seems inprecise?
As far as the "rec search" it never seems too exact...or rather, sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't...
Anybody know the best way of doing this?
Josh

"Rec Search" is the only semi-automatic facility available. Without the aid of some external device (i.e. a computer) there's no more accurate method of cueing the tape.

then...do you know if there is any way to make rec. search automatically cue to the point? does the forward rec. search somehow work differently than the backward one?

The function works identically in both directions. It simply looks for a record start/stop marker. That's it.

it seems to do different things depending on whether one holds the button down or simply presses it once...I feel like I'm missing something...
