A question about thread sizes

Hey DVinfo people. :)
I have a quick question, I made a mini35 very much like the one used in Marla and they made an adapter that fits the canon wide angle lens on top of their Nikon F2 lens. I was just wondering if anyone knows this but I have a Topcon Super D camera for my adapter and the lens is a 50mm lens with a 58mm thread. In the make the 35mm manual the Marla guys said I have to get a step down ring from 58mm to 52mm in order to fit the canon wide angle lens on top. Is it going to work the same for my Topcon lens as it did with their Nikon lens or do I need a different adapter ring?

Thanks

P.S. The GL2 thread is a 58mm one so I'm a bit confused why I have to go down to 52mm, and also I tried to fit my GL2 macro lens on top of my Topcon 50mm and it was too small.

(CONFUSED!!@#U@#!)

Hello Dmitry,
I read your post 4 times but I'm still completely in the dark concerning what specifically you're trying to accomplish.

Can you re-state your challenge more directly? Ex: "I want to mount a __x__ to my __y__ . But my ___y___ requires..."

sprry I guess I am way confused.
OK here it goes. I have a f=58mm 1:1,4 lens
and I would like to mount the Canon WD-58H 58mm adapter on it to give it a broader fild of view. In the manual the guys of anotherstateofmind wrote, it states that I have to get a step down ring 52mm to 58mm, but that was for the Nikon F2 camera lens. I was just wondering if the same setup would work for my
RE:Auto-Topcor lens as it did for their Nikon F2 lens.

Thanks

I'm Supa sorry for the fuss Ken. I guess I just had to research a little more. I looked up the thread for my Nikon HN-23 lens hood and it's a 62mm so I guess I'll need a 62mm to 58mm step down ring then, I already placed a bid for it on ebay only 2.50$ :)
Ohh and while I'm on the topic. What's the next "OK" wide angle lens I can get for my GL2 except for the super expensive$$$
Century Optics one or the Canon WD-58H

Thanks

Just go with Canon WD-58H. I tried both Century&Canon, and bought Canon. Never regreted...
