Effects Feature

Hello All,

My trial run using the GL2 has truly impressed my pastor and those working with me video taping my church service.

I haven't quite figured out how to use the effect features. Before we purchased the GL2, we used a Panasonic consumer cam. Between singing or other portions of the service, I faded to black to help me identify where to create chapters and potential edit points. How do I fade to black using the GL2. I have successfully found how to change it to fade to black, but where is the button or steps to make this take place.

As always your help will be greatly appreciated.

I don't have a GL2 so I don't know this for sure, but doesn't the screen just fades if you start/stop shooting?

And maybe this is not an option for you, but if I were you, would think of another way to make a kind of edit point. Maybe by just saying something. Because in post production you can edit the sound out, but not the fading of the camera.

Good luck.

Mathieu, like most other DV camcorders, the GL2 does not fade to black if you stop shooting. It simply enters Record Pause mode, so that there is a simple straight cut between each shot.

Ryan, the exact procedure for operating the fade trigger is described in your GL2 owner's manual on page 63. Hope this helps,

Thanks for the info. Not sure how I missed it, but it was there plain as day. Thanks again.
